“Abortion Capital: Boyd & Co.Turn Albuquerque Into The Late-Term Abortion Capital of the World”
Images of Injustice: Harder Truth
Late-Term Abortions have come to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque is now considered the Late-Term Abortion Capital of the world.
Late-term abortions are overwhelmingly opposed by the vast majority of Americans. According to one Gallup Poll, 68% oppose second trimester abortions and a stunning 84% oppose third trimester abortions. That disapproval is reflected in the law. In most states, abortions after viability are either illegal or highly regulated. Thirty six states have some kind of ban on “late-term” abortions, although the definition of “late-term” varies. Fourteen states prohibit abortions after 24 weeks. Ten states require a second physician’s approval. However, in New Mexico there are no laws pertaining to viability. It is legal to have an abortion up to the day of birth.
Due to the lack of abortion regulations, Curtis Boyd & Co. decided to market late-term abortions here in Albuquerque, NM and is drawing women from all across North America. We have seen cars from Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Utah, California, Washington, Kansas, Idaho, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, New York, and Mexico. In addition, Bud Shaver with Project Defending Life has spoken to women who came from Hawaii, and Canada. Albuquerque, New Mexico is now known as the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America and even a case could be made for it being the Late-Term Abortion Capital of the world!
The Late-Term Abortion procedure is called: Induction Abortion- Also known as the “MOLD Technique”
MOLD is an acronym for the four products employed in the abortion process: Misoprostol, Oxytocin, Laminaria, and Digoxin.
The Induction abortion takes 3-4 days to complete. On the first day the woman is given an ultrasound to determine the gestational age of her baby. Then, with the aid of the ultrasound to guide the abortionist, a lethal dose of the heart medication Digoxin is injected into the baby’s heart directly through the woman’s abdomen. Digoxin gives the baby a fatal heart attack. This is an off-label application of the drug, which was developed and approved as a treatment for heart disease
After the Digoxin injection, the woman’s cervix is packed with laminaria, thin tampon-like sticks made of seaweed that expand the cervix gradually over the next day.
The next day, the woman is repacked with larger laminaria sticks and given Misoprostol to prepare the woman for labor.
On the final day of the abortion, the woman is given the drug Oxytocin, which induces contractions and the onset of labor. Women then are placed in a room where they endure the labor process. When it is determined that the labor has progressed to the stage where the baby is about to be delivered…Public testimony from several women across the country revealed that in other late-term mills, “Each woman is taken into a room with a toilet and told to lean on the nurse and push the baby into the toilet.”
Once the dead baby is delivered, the woman is given a procedure called Dilatation and Curettage, or D&C. Here, a sharp edged spoon-shaped instrument is used to remove the remaining tissue, such as the afterbirth, from the uterus.
Complications from lethal fetal injections are well known. In Orlando, Florida, the misuse of Digoxin resulted in the live birth of Baby Rowan, who died after abortion clinic workers denied him medical care. In Wichita, Kansas, baby Sarah was injected in the head with a toxic drug that was a precursor to Digoxin. She survived and was later adopted, but suffered a malady of medical problems. She died five years later from complications to the injuries she received as a result of the injection.
In addition, it is well documented that babies in the later stages of pregnancy can feel pain and at least one study indicates that babies as young as 6-8 weeks gestation may experience pain.
Three Late-term Abortionists Under Investigation For Series of Botched Abortions (August 9, 2011)
[There have been eleven abortion-related medical emergencies at Southwestern Women’s Options in less than two years.]
Albuquerque, NM — Project Defending Life and Operation Rescue have been notified by the New Mexico Board of Physicians that three Albuquerque abortionists who specialize in late-term abortions are under investigation for a spate of abortion injuries that took place over a 15-month time span.
Project Defending Life and Operation Rescue filed the complaint after Project Defending Life obtained audio files of eleven 911 calls from the clinic where the three abortionists work indicating that women were suffering life-threatening abortion complications ranging from heavy hemorrhaging to a ruptured uterus. The recordings were provided in response to an open records request.
Under investigation are Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson, late-term abortionists who formerly worked for the nation’s largest late-term abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas, prior to its closure in 2009. Also under investigation is Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd, who owns Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque, where the 911 calls originated.
“When this late-term clinic opened, we predicted that women would be injured, and now that prediction has unfortunately come true,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “It is shocking that eleven women in less than 15 months nearly died from life-threatening complications to abortions, some of them in the later stages of pregnancy. These 911 calls prove that this clinic is a dangerous abortion mill that should be closed in the interest of public safety.”
In addition, members of Project Defending Life met with Gov. Susana Martinez to discuss the dangerous conditions that have spawned so many life-threatening abortion complications.
“Our concern is for the safety of women in New Mexico. We were encouraged to hear that Governor Martinez shares these same concerns. In fact, we were thoroughly impressed that the Governor’s office not only knew about the 911 calls, but had already contacted the Executive Director of the Medical Board to insure the investigation was progressing. We now have confidence that the New Mexico Medical Board is conducting a proper investigation,” said Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Project Defending Life after the meeting.LISTEN TO THE 911 CALLS:

WATCH CURTIS BOYD ADMIT THAT HE IS KILLING:
In the 1960s, Curtis Boyd provided thousands of illegal abortions to women in Texas.
LISTEN TO CURTIS BOYD ADMIT TO BEING AN ILLEGAL “BACK ALLEY” ABORTIONIST:
“Part and parcel of the pro-abortion rhetoric is that women need open access to abortion to protect them from having to resort to seeking out “back alley” abortionists. Vulnerable women not realizing Curtis Boyd’s sordid past and current trouble are being thrust unsuspectingly into his hands. Boyd also admits to having conducted “pain management” experiments on his patients as well as having used them to experiment new abortion methods. As previously mentioned, over the past two years alone, there have been eleven documented life-threatening injuries at Curtis Boyd’s late-term abortion mill, demanding these women be rushed to the UNMH emergency room.
We encourage women to seek alternatives and free help from Project Defending Life and never step foot into Boyd’s “House of Horrors.” Tara Shaver, spokesperson for Project Defending Life.
