Project Defending Life (PDL) is a Catholic umbrella ministry in New Mexico that sponsors many pro-life ministries, with a special focus on ending all abortions. We maintain a pro-life chapel just 50 feet from a Planned Parenthood abortion center.

Death Threats Against PDL’s Ministry Coordinators

Death threats against two of Project Defending Life’s Ministry Coordinators makes national news!

Moms Ministry Baby Counter

Most Recent Baby Baby Allison’s mom came to PDL unknowing she was pregnant on Tuesday, May 25th. We immediately saw the baby was quite big after the ultrasound that day. Four days later, Saturday, May 29th at 2 a.m. she was born at only 29 weeks. She was 3 lbs and 2 ozs. She is pictured here in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Baby Allison is doing remarkably well and is expected to go home very soon. We thank the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFRs Father Joseph Mary and Brother Gerard) for praying and blessing mom and baby. The Gabriel Project and more pictures of recent babies.

Moms Currently Being Ministered To Ashley is pictured here with her kids. Ashley drives from Rio Rancho every week to attend the Parents Educational Program “Parents as Leaders” education program. She bring the kids and they stay in the Moms Ministry Daycare while Ashley attends class every week. Ashley is currently being helped by The Gabriel Project at Incarnation Parish in Rio Rancho.

Mom’s Ministry Christmas Party

Two days before Christmas, our Mom’s Ministry held a Christmas Party for 27 of our Mom’s and their children (50 total). The evening was filled with love, joy, food, carols and presents. A number of moms wanted to take the gifts home so the children would have a present to open on Christmas morning. All the gifts were provided by two Gabriel Parishes (San Clemente and St. Jude’s), with the help of Gabriel coordinators at The Shrine of St. Bernadette’s and Incarnation and a number of PDL supporters chipping in to make sure all had a gift. Thanks to all who helped make the true meaning of Christmas come alive to our Moms in need; especially Bobbi Cuddihy who organized the party.

Baby Angel was born June 12, 2009; 9 weeks early. He weighed 4.16 lbs. 10 days after his birth he took a turn for the worse. Father Stephen was called and asked to baptise baby Angel. After the baptism, Angel started doing remarkably well, and is now a healthy baby boy. Founded by local New Mexico priest

Father Stephen Imbarrato is the founder and chaplain of Project Defending Life. He is a priest in the archdiocese of Santa Fe and a long-time pro-life activist. Father Imbarrato works with the PDL Board of Directors to oversee a growing staff of part-time volunteers in coordinating pro-life action in the areas of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.

Project Defending Life is not affiliated with any church organization but we do work in close collaboration with Respect Life efforts at the parish and archdiocesan levels. Archbishop Michael Sheehan participates often in PDL events and chairs our Clergy Advisory Board
