Intercessors for Life

Make a formal commitment to pray with us to end abortion and support our sidewalk counselors. You can pray from home or before the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel of the Holy Innocents.

The Catholic Church has always believed in the necessity for intercessory prayer. We all need someone to pray for us, whether in times when we are in the trials of everyday living or in times of great suffering. It is especially valuable for those who are working diligently to stop abortion, and for the parents who are contemplating abortion.

Remembering our Lord’s words, “I shall make you fishers of men,” Mt 4:19. We started to cast a net for people to pray and ask others to pray so we could gather more “men” to commit to one prayer a day for these intentions. So we first set to work finding those who would be willing to become part of our “net”. Setting up a network of people to work in their own parishes and among their friends, helps us to pull in a greater quantity of prayer warriors in a shorter time.

For instance: Carmen, who is a PA will ask her homebound patients to offer their prayers and sufferings for this cause. Norma asked her church groups and friends from other church groups to sign up and to ask their family and friends. I asked the people at daily Mass, at bible class, those who attended special church functions, and those who attend Theology on Tap. Between us all we have hauled in over 400 new prayer warriors in just a few of weeks.

Our goal is to support each worker in the front lines, with on-going prayers in order to stop the killing of babies. We have yet to reach our goal. So if you haven’t committed yourself to that one prayer per day, please do so now and if possible volunteer to become a part of our net and take our cause to the people in your parishes. The bigger the net, the more prayers, and the faster abortion will become a thing of the past.
