…at San Ignacio Church for the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants (a ministry of Project Defending Life) and led over 200 people in a prayerful procession to Curtis Boyd’s abortuary on Lomas Blvd. Archbishop Michael told the faithful that we all have to work to end the cultural attacks against the Sanctity of Life, Marriage, and Family. He pointed out that many people, even many Catholics, are not properly catechized about issues such as embryonic stem cell tissue research being an attack on life and how domestic partnership is a direct attack against sacramental marriage.

The poor catechizes became evident that very morning. One of the sidewalk counselors at the abortuary encountered a woman who was bringing her daughter to have an abortion. This woman said that she prayed the rosary everyday. One other woman going into the center to have an abortion said she was a saved Christian and that Christ forgives her. A third woman claimed she knew exactly what she was doing. She was going to send her child straight to heaven! This is clear evidence of how this “structure of sin,” this “culture of death” has permeated every faith.

After the Helpers Mass and procession, Archbishop Michael joined the faithful at a potluck lunch. This is the 3rd Project Defending Life event that Archbishop Michael has participated in over the last three months. The next Helpers Mass and Procession will be held on Saturday March 14th, 8:00 am at San Ignacio Church. Fr J Voorhies will be the celebrant and homilist and will lead the procession to the abortuary.
