Belen March For Life
Palm Sunday March 16, 2008, The Knights of Columbus are having their annual March for Life. Every one will gather by 1:00pm at Our Lady of Belen Parish and walk to Our Lady of Guadalupe mission in Los Chavez. (About 2.5 hours)
There will be refreshments along the way and an escort car. Please wear layered clothing and good walking shoes.
Babies Saved and Tears Shed During 40 Days for Life
The 40 Days For Life prayer crusade kicked off in Albuquerque and throughout 59 metro areas around the states on Ash Wednesday. News from around the country mirror our own experience here in Albuquerque – babies are being saved, mothers and fathers spared from suffering the effects of abortion and souls convicted and committed to ending the evil of abortion.
Pro-life Lecture at UNM
Members of the University of New Mexico School Of Law’s St. Thomas More and Virgin of Guadalupe Society hosted a lecture on “Rejecting the Culture of Death” at the University of New Mexico’s Student Union Building on January 3oth this year. Fr. Stephen Imbarrato gave a talk and answered questions about his journey from indifference to fighting abortion and promoting the culture of life as a Catholic priest. Several young people in attendance asked sincere questions about unborn life and the culture of abortion that permeates our society. Thanks to James Dory-Garduno, student at the university’s law school, for promoting the pro-life message at UNM.
PDL Gabriel Project helps mother and baby
In July of last year, Annmarie was pregnant with two very young children at home. She found herself at Planned Parenthood scheduled to have an abortion. Instead, she turned to PDL prayer warrior Philip Leahy outside the abortion mill for help. Philip turned Annmarie over to the Gabriel Project for help and support. Thousands attend Sanctity of Life Event for Prayer and Public Witness
The Sanctity of Life Awareness and Unity Day co-sponsored by the Catholic Bishops of New Mexico and Project Defending Life was a resounding success. Held in Santa Fe on January 21st and 22nd of 2008, over two thousand attended two Masses at the Basilica/ Cathedral in Santa Fe celebrated by the Archbishop and Bishops of New Mexico and concelebrated by a number of priests representing all three dioceses in the state. The event commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court case which legalized abortion in America.
