Fr Stephen was the Mass celebrant and was joined by Fr Leo and Fr Conrad of the CFRs, Fr Mike Shea of Prince of Peace, Fr Mike Vance of San Isidro in Corrales, and Fr Leo Ortiz of St Anne’s. Fr Terry Brennan was the homilist. Reuben Ortiz from Risen Saviour and now the music coordinator of Project Defending Life, provided the music.
After Mass the teens attended a concert provided by Robbie Blea and the St thomas Aquinas XLT band. The teens gave praise and worship to Christ by singing along with the bands, the words being projected on a large screen. Justin Bucalo led the concert and Fr Stephen gave a talk on the pro-life aspects of Our Lady of Guadalupe whose Missionary Image was prominent at both the Mass and the concert.
One of the most moving parts of the concert was the teens venerating Our Lady on their knees throughout the night. The highlight of the concert was adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the concert hall prior to all night exposition in the Church of St Anne. Teen groups from Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Rio Rancho attended the concert, camped out overnight in the hall, and adored Our Lord in St Anne’s throughout the night.
The next morning 90 teens went on a tour of religious sites in Santa Fe lead by Deacon Trujillo of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Santa Fe. Another dozen or so teens attended a prayer vigil at + Lucia Cies’ abortion mill before they all gathered at the Cathedral to attend the bishops’ Mass and help hand out contact cards for PDL and after Mass, distribute signs to the huge crowd that processed through the streets of Santa Fe. Teens from the youth groups and St Pius high school took turns carrying Our Lady of Guadalupe at the head of the 3000 person procession.
