Whose baby picture?
Can you guess who this gorgeous baby is? it’s none other than Rachel, daughter of Ruth and Daniel Lowe. Ruth is our webmaster and grant writer. We thank you, Ruth, for your service to our ministry and your contribution to advancing the “culture of life” especially bringing such a beautiful baby into the world! We hope Rachel will grace our pro-life center at PDL as often as possible.

Quo Vadis, Milites Christi?
Many of us prayed and worked hard to defend life and our Christian principles during the recent election season. Many of you are discouraged and despondent by the results of the elections. But take heart! Christians always rise to the occasion when faced with severe trials and tribulations. There is a large, energized nation-wide movement of Christians who understand the serious threat to our values and moral principles this election represents. A coalition is being formed which will bring the voice of the people to the forefront of our battle with the forces who are assuming governmental power in Washington and the state.

Christian churches and Catholic groups will be working together as a coalition for the good of New Mexico and our republic. If you are interested in participating and want to find out more about activities we’re planning, please send an email to: mailnmmcg@gmail.com.

So where are you going, pro-lifers? We are soldiers of Christ! In whose sign do we conquer? We do not retreat when faced with evil. In the early fourth century, Constantine faced tremendous forces before him as he prepared to take Rome. In a dream, the emperor was told to mark his soldiers’ shields with the sign of God, the cross as his badge. He was victorious and was convinced that the supreme god was not Roman but the God of the Christians, Jesus Christ. In hoc signo vinces, in this sign (the cross),we will conquer!

Let us remind ourselves of the words of wisdom in Sirach:
“My son, if you come forward to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for temptation. Set your heart right and be steadfast, and do not be hasty in time of calamity. Cleave to him and do not depart, that you may be honored at the end of your life.

“Accept whatever is brought upon you, and in changes that humble you, be patient. For gold is tested in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation.

“Trust in Him, and He will help you; make your ways straight, and hope in Him.” (Sirach 2:1-4)

It’s Your Choice – The Lord is Waiting for you
In this election we may have lost the battle but we haven’t lost the war. We will never lose the war because our Commander and Chief is the Lord, God Almighty. What we need now is to get out our greatest weapon – the Rosary – and come before the Blessed Sacrament on our knees to pray for God’s mercy.

Many people have been going with the flow – sitting in front of the TV, taking the easiest road, and steering their lives down the path of comfort. This is how we have become the “culture of death”; this is why God will vomit us out of His mouth, because this is not only being lukewarm, this is being forgetful of God and this happens because of our self-love.

So what do we do about this? We ask for forgiveness and start anew. The first thing is to enter a life of prayer. Pray when you get up in the morning, pray before you go to bed at night, pray when you’re driving your car, pray while you’re standing in line at the store, pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Our country is going to hell in a hand basket, and we haven’t been able schedule people for one hour a week and cover eight hours a day at the Chapel of the Holy Innocents. That’s only eight people a day, six days a week. Our Lord asked, “Can you not spend one hour with Me?” and we have answered, “No”. We have been invited to the wedding feast and have had nothing but excuses.

America, the land of the free, has now become the land of “free choice”. However, we can still choose to use our free will for good; we can still choose to love God above all things; we can still choose to live a life of prayer, and we can still choose to fight against the “culture of death”. This is the ultimate war – the battle between good and evil – now we must choose who we will follow. If we choose the Way of Divine Intimacy our weapons will be adoration and the Rosary. If we choose to remain lukewarm, we lay down all weapons. So now the only question is: What do you choose and what hour would you like to schedule in the Chapel of Holy Innocents?
