Ashley and Kevin Say Yes to Their Baby’s Life on The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart
Our selfless sidewalk counselor, Philip Leahy, shared a story today about the parents of the unborn child saved at Planned Parenthood: “I noticed this young man named Kevin walking outside Planned Parenthood and I started talking to him. He and his girlfriend arrived really early before I did. I was telling him how they did not have to go through with the abortion and we could help. Then, praise God, Fr. Imbarrato happened to be walking by with another priest. I told Kevin to hold on a second as I went to call Fr. Imbarrato over.
“Father came over and said something like, ‘Hey man, go in there and rescue your girlfriend and baby…we’ll help you find a job.’ Kevin went into Planned Parenthood while I kept praying. I must have said about 300 prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Praise God! He came out with his girlfriend, Ashley. As I approached them, I noticed she (Ashley) was all smiles! I gave her a model of a baby and Kevin gave me his number to help him find a job.”
Before Philip relayed the story, I noticed a group of people praying on the sidewalk…coincidence?…Definitely not. More like an example of how we can all do our part in ending the holocaust of abortion. Please do your part…be it praying for the end of abortion in front of the mill, attending the upcoming sidewalk counselors training, processing at one of the monthly Helper’s Vigil, or donating to pro-life ministries. Let God inspire your heart as to what you can do to help the unborn and their parents. Every prayer and donation help. If you would like to know how you can help our ministry, please call 266-4100. Side Walk Counseling Training Seminar
On June 11th, Wednesday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Project Defending Life, Fr. Stephen Imbarrato will be conducting a sidewalk counseling training seminar. Abortion is the civil rights crisis of our time. Our country has lived with widespread legal abortion for 35 years.
Please take a stand and learn how you can make a difference in rescuing babies and moms from abortion. Babies and Moms are being saved from abortion when faithful prayer warriors and counselors are well-trained and coordinated at the sidewalks. (By Sally Govea)

Virginia’s Abstinence Programs Do Work!
Contrary to the shrill attacks of pro-condom and abortion advocacy institutions like Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and SIECUS against abstinence education, the good news is abstinence programs are working.
The Institute for Research and Evaluation studied the Virginia Department of Health’s abstinence education initiative, studying the behavior of seventh-graders in different Virginia schools. According to the American Journal of Health Behavior, the study concluded that almost 50% of those students receiving abstinence education (45.7%)were less likely to initiate sexual activity as students who did not receive abstinence education. Surprise… surprise. Why is Planned Parenthood lobbying relentlessly to defund abstinence programs by misrepresenting the approach and effectiveness of such programs? Follow the money.
Parents, be an advocate for abstinence education. The child saved from abortion may be your son’s, daughter’s or grandchild’s baby. The National Abstinence Education Association has published an excellent
advocacy guide
Join Parents for Truth ,a national campaign of concerned parents who are committed to protecting their children’s health and future through abstinence education. The campaign exposes the harmful information often shared with students in “comprehensive” sex education classes in schools. Parents for Truth provides parents with tools to talk to their children about sex and the necessity of abstinence. It also provides resources to help parents take an active role in ensuring that abstinence education is taught in their children’s schools.
Parents for Truth is sponsored by the National Abstinence Education Association (NAEA), a 501©(4), nonprofit association, representing abstinence organizations across America, who serve more than 1.5 million students each year. For more information about NAEA, go to www.abstinenceassociation.org

We Need Your Help To Move!
Project Defending Life is moving the chapel and office. The new location will be 50 feet from Planned Parenthood across the street from our present location.
As you know it is the little things in life that can give us the most trouble and take most of our time. Well, we have a lot of little things in the office that need to go to the new building and be put in their new place. We plan to move these things during the weeks of June 16th and 23rd. So if you have some time we can use your help to move these little items.
We also need the help of strong men to move Office furniture and boxes on Saturday, June 21st, starting at 9:00 am, On Saturday, June 28th at 9:00 am, the chapel altar, pews and any other remaining items must be moved. We could use some trucks and some brawn to make it a smooth transition. If you would like to help please call the office: 266-4100 or email sally@defendinglife.com
Thank you. (By Sally Govea)
