We are wrapping up 40 Days for Life and we are thankful for all those who have participated. We had 5 confirmed turnarounds and 1 save due to this campaign. One young woman who turned away from Planned Parenthood and sought help at our clinic said she would have had an abortion if it weren’t for the loving and compassionate people on the sidewalk offering her support. This young woman was heavily pressured by her boyfriend, friends, and family, and if it wasn’t for our public witness she would have made a decision that wasn’t hers. Thank you for being present and saving the lives of unborn children!
We also ask that if you are on the sidewalk in front of abortion clinics to always be respectful towards police offers, counter-protestors, and abortion workers. PDL , 40 Days for Life, and Sidewalk Advocates for Life do not condone or promote illegal activities, confrontational behavior, or the use of graphic images on the sidewalks in front of abortion facilities. If you are unsure of what is permitted on the sidewalk and where you can stand, please email us or give us a call and we’d be happy to give you the appropriate information.
Furthermore, if you are being threatened or bullied, even by cops, please let us know immediately so we may take further action if necessary. I have been receiving reports that there have been minor assaults on the sidewalk of Planned Parenthood. Please report any assaults to us and take care of your surroundings and belongings. Always take a partner with you!
On Tuesday our nurses completed the last of their training as well as got our systems connected so we can operate as a pregnancy medical clinic. This means we are ready to do ultrasounds now! Thank you again for those who have prayed over our medical conversion, financially invested in our mission, and/or participated in our sonography trainings.
We have finally confirmed our next volunteer training. If you are interested in volunteering, please find the attached application here and visit our website to find out how you can be involved. Our training will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Place TBD once we have a head count. Cost for training materials is $35. Please R.S.V.P.
Lastly, I had the wonderful opportunity to give my testimony and share with others the work of PDL at the Students for Life Rocky Mountain Gala in Denver in March. Students for Life at the University of New Mexico (SFL UNM) was founded in 2013 by Project Defending Life and we continue to have a special relationship with them as many of our volunteers and staff members have been recruited from SFL UNM. I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jason Jones, producer of Bella and Students for Life president, Kristan Hawkins. Project Defending Life was a proud sponsor for this event.
